Lindsay S. Adams

Counsel

Mr. Adams practices in the areas of litigation, opinion writing, licensing, and patent prosecution in the fields of chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, mechanical and medical devices. Throughout his extensive career, Mr. Adams has represented a variety of clients, domestic and foreign, ranging from individual inventors, start-ups, academic institutions and multi-national conglomerates.

He has broad experience in all phases of practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office including reexamination and interference proceedings.  For example, Mr. Adams has recently represented a client in instituting reexamination proceedings concurrent with the on-going defense of a patent litigation before the Federal courts.  His practice will also expand to include post-grant review proceedings starting with their implementation in late 2012 at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Adams also has experience in due diligence reviews of patent portfolios and counseling of clients on patents and patent-related FDA matters.  In view that each client has unique requirements, Mr. Adams strives to provide creative solutions that best serves the needs of each client.

Over the past several years, he has also lectured in Japan on U.S. Patent Law.  He has co-authored several published articles including: “Medical Diagnostic Claims Patent-Eligible After Bilski,” “Patent Reform Efforts Not Entirely Popular,” and “Federal Circuit Invalidates the U.S. Patent Office’s Continuation Rule.”
