Yun H. Choe, Ph.D

Scientific Advisor

Dr. Choe works extensively in the prosecution of patents in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, and biotechnology fields.

In addition, as the firm’s Scientific Advisor, Dr. Choe is frequently called upon to provide technical/expert opinions regarding the validity and/or infringement of patents. She is also a registered patent agent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Dr. Choe’s experience in the pharmaceutical industry covers more than 15 years of experience in various therapeutic and technical fields including synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, polymer chemistry, polymeric drug delivery, and medical devices.

During her post-doctoral research at Hoffmann-La Roche, Inc. in Nutley, New Jersey, Dr. Choe worked in research and development of antisense drugs.  Since then she has expanded her experience in Polymer Drugs and Polymeric Drug Delivery Systems at several companies including Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Polymeric, Co. in New Jersey.

Early in her career, Dr. Choe served as the manager of R & D with responsibility for bringing leading early stage projects to development.  She has also served as the liaison between R & D and technology transfer offices on matters involving patents and the licensing of patents, regulatory concerns (IND filing) and additional intellectual property issues.

Dr. Choe has delivered numerous presentations at scientific conferences and  has lectured in universities in the United States and in Korea, and has authored more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

She holds more than 20 U.S. patents.
