He has provided representation for a wide variety of technologies, including carbon nanotubes, foam composites, tissue engineering, diagnostic and therapeutic agents, topical prescriptions, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, household goods and appliances, catalytic antibodies, microreactors, catalysis, dietary and nutritional supplements, alkali metal silicides, fuel cells and various other chemical/medical technologies. He has also assisted clients in conducting due diligence on potential acquisition targets, and in positioning and packaging their own intellectual property to make themselves more attractive targets. He has also prepared and analyzed competitive intellectual property landscapes for clients seeking to evaluate the intellectual property risks and rewards for their businesses.
Albert’s patent prosecution portfolio ranges from prosecuting a single design application for a solo inventor to protecting a highly complex electro-chemical technology with hundreds of worldwide applications worth over $1 billion.
Albert’s practice has included both enforcement and defense of patent, trademark and trade dress claims. He has litigated a number of Hatch Waxman, patent, trademark, trade dress, antitrust and false advertising cases, as well a number of multi-party patent interferences.
Albert has also lectured on patent prosecution strategies and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s electronic filing system. Albert is also an LEED Green Associate.
