Donald C. Lucas


Donald C. Lucas, co-founder of the firm, has 30 years of experience in representing clients on intellectual property matters. He has successfully prepared and prosecuted a large number of patent applications in an array of chemical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical technologies.

Specifically, these technical specialties cover a wide array of related subject areas including: chemical compounds and formulations, cosmetics, chemical processing for industrial purposes, coating materials, sports equipment, office equipment, metallurgic, automotive, locks, food science technologies and processes, semiconductor fabrication, construction industry, and medical devices throughout the world.

Mr. Lucas concentrates his practice in preparing and prosecuting complex patent applications. He is equally adept at working with company executives and in-house counsel at managing and building the patent portfolio.

He has worked closely with leading companies within the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, office equipment, automotive and lock industries.

Beyond his work in the field of patent law, he also maintains an active trademark and copyright practice.

In the area of trademark law, he focuses on domestic and foreign trademark counseling, licensing and registration before the U.S. and foreign trademark offices.

Mr. Lucas also concentrates on counseling clients on trademark infringement matters, especially on enforcement issues, both inside and outside of the United States.
